New IT/digital project delivery model

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Design and build of a new project delivery framework for IT and Digital projects.

THE CHALLENGE

The client was delivering a notable number of UK and international technology projects, but each was utilising different project approaches. This made it near impossible for management to truly track and support the portfolio, or to ensure that quality practices were being applied.

THE ENFUSE APPROACH

We assessed what existed in terms of delivery guidance and frameworks for the project managers, including differences across global and UK based projects. We ran two full days of workshops with a cross section of delivery stakeholders to then review and refine these.

Utilizing best practice examples of what ‘good looks like’, we were able to fast track agreement on a single framework that could flex and accommodate differing needs. We then worked with a smaller focus group on the low level design so that items such as template artefacts and terms of reference could be ready for the launch of the new setup.

THE OUTCOMES

The framework and a rollout strategy were agreed with senior management. The PMO was able to take ownership of this and it now forms the core of how projects are run within the UK, including when they are part of a global project.
